Hello Travis Country Shark families! I am Coach Rachel, a long-time member of the TC community. This season will be my 23rd year with the Sharks: my 9th year coaching. I was born and raised here in Austin Texas. My passion for swimming began through summer league with the sharks at the age of 6 and continued every year until I could not compete. During this time I also spent four years with Longhorn Aquatics age group swimming, while also competing for Austin High. More recently I have been an on and off master’s swimmer with Austin Swim Club. When I am not coaching the sharks I am a middle school math teacher here in AISD.
Summer league swimming is about learning the basics and mechanics of the sport of swimming; improving strokes and personal times; and having fun in an encouraging, and supportive community. Please reach out with any questions you may have. I am looking forward to a fun-filled summer!

Hello! My name is Alanna Araguz. My family and I have lived in Travis Country since I was 4. My brothers and I have always enjoyed being able to join the swim team each year, meeting many amazing people along the way. This will be my first year working as a coach but I have been swimming with the TC Sharks since I was 9 and volunteering with the team since I was 13. During my time as a Shark, I also swam with Nitro Swimming and ASC along with the Austin High Swim Team. I am now attending college at A&M Galveston majoring in marine biology. Though there isn’t a swim team I am pursuing a scuba diving minor and have taken up surfing to stay near the water. I am very excited to be able to coach this year and can’t wait to see how the season goes! I hope to help make it as enjoyable for everyone else as it was for me.
Hi! My name is Ella Austin. I have been a part of sharks for the last 15 years of my life 14 of which I was a swimmer. This will be my 2nd year coaching! I am currently studying at Saint Edwards University and am Majoring in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. My family and I have lived in Travis Country since I was 6 months old, since I can remember swimteam has been a huge part of my life, it was something I looked forward to every summer because not only was I a part of of sharks, my sister swam as well, and my parents volunteered every year we were swimmers. My goal is to make each and every swimmer be excited and have as much fun as I did growing up through sharks, I will always cherish the life long memories I have made at the pool and can’t wait to make more teaching your children!

Hey Sharks! My name is Genet Leeds and I have been swimming with the Sharks since I was 5 years old! I have been so fortunate to be a part of this team for so long. I’ve met some phenomenal people and even better coaches during Sharks. Right now I attend Austin High School and will be a senior next year. Along with swimming with the Sharks I also swam with clubs like Nitro and Austin Swim Club, as well as my high school team at Austin High, where I was the captain. I’m also a lifeguard for our neighborhood, as of last year. This Summer is going to be great and I can’t wait to get started!
Hello! My name is Avery Edwards. I started swimming with the TC Sharks when I was nine years old, and now I get the opportunity to coach the team that gave me such a sense of community and fun memories! In addition to swim team, I work as a server at the backspace (come say hi!) and as an EMT. I am currently attending Tulane University in New Orleans, where I love to listen to music on Frenchman street, enjoy yummy food around the Lower Garden District, and explore the Quarter! I love to read thrillers and run in my free time. I can’t wait to meet everyone!!

Hi sharks! My name is Megan and I’ve been a part of the TC Swim Team since I was 6. I’ve been apprentice coaching the past 4 years and this will be my first year coaching. I love to swim and am currently on the Austin High swim team (go Maroons!). I enjoy reading, baking, snow skiing, and wake surfing (and swimming, obviously). I’m looking forward to a fun swim season!

Hi! My name is Riley and I’ve been swimming on Sharks for eleven years and apprentice coaching since middle school. I’ve been living in Texas almost my whole life and in Austin since I was five. I’m an Austin High graduate and I was on the Austin High swim team throughout high school. In my free time I like hiking in the green belt, mountain biking, reading, and playing guitar. I’m so excited for my second year of coaching for TC Sharks and I can’t wait for the new season!
