Rachel Escobedo Head Coach

Hello Travis Country Sharks! I am Coach Rachel, a long-time member of the TC community. This season will be my 24th year with the Sharks: my 11th year coaching. I was born and raised here in Austin Texas. My passion for swimming began through this summer league program at the age of 6, and continued every year until I could not compete! During this time I also spent four years with Longhorn Aquatics age group swimming, while also competing for Austin High. More recently I have been an on and off master’s swimmer with Austin Swim Club. When I am not coaching the sharks I am a middle school math teacher here in AISD.

Summer league swimming is about learning the foundations and mechanics of the sport of swimming; improving strokes and personal times; and having fun in a supportive community unlike any other! Please reach out with any questions you may have. I am looking forward to a fun-filled summer! - Coach Rachel

Sarah Escobedo

Hi Sharks, Coach Sarah here!

Raised a TC Shark myself, the summer league swim community holds a special place in my heart. This season I’m excited to reunite with the Shark Family while coaching evening practices. I hope this team will provide your kiddos with a positive community experience whilst learning and becoming more confident in one of the best sports around. Apart from swimming I am an experienced runner, okay gardener, and work as a freelance florist and home organizer.

Mia Corbin

Hi! My name is Mia Corbin, and this is my 12th year as a TC Sharks swimmer and my 1st year as an assistant coach! I’m a junior at Austin High School, where I'm part of the school's swim team. I’m also a swimmer at Austin Swim Club in the Nationals Group. Sharks has played a huge role in helping me pursue my passion for swimming and given me lifelong memories that I’ll forever cherish, from the friendships I’ve built to the unforgettable moments at meets and practices. Outside of school, I'm a lifeguard for the neighborhood as well as a camp counselor for ages 3-9. I love being active, spending time with family/friends, and being around my dogs. I’m beyond excited for this season! I can’t wait to share my love for swimming, help others grow, and create new memories with the team.

Franny McLarty

Hi I'm Franny. I started swimming with the Sharks when I was 9, and continued through high school. Summers in the morning sunshine, getting exercise, spending quality time with friends, and eating breakfast tacos instilled in me a lifelong love for swimming and the water. I love working with kids in all capacities, from ski and swim instruction to youth theater, and she's lucky to spend another summer in the wonderful world of the Sharks!

Sara Davis

Coach Sara was on the swim team in Junior High School, where she won individual and team medals in the Houston City Championship, including breaking a Houston record in the Medley Relay. Unfortunately, neither her high school nor her college had swim teams, so her swimming career ended there. . . . until she moved to Travis Country and her daughters, Katie and Ellie, began swimming in 2008. Later, her youngest daughter, Claire, became a Shark, and they haven’t looked back. This is Claire’s last year as a shark. Coach Sara loves being a Sharks mom, and she also loves being Sharks Assistant Coach. GO Claire and GO SHARKS!!!!!!!
